We left our college, Louis Pasteur around 11am and headed for the airport at Marseille, which is situated next to the Vaïnè Lake.

Airports are nothing short of pure hell for me; being stuck in any airport waiting for a flight is the most boring, annoying, irritating, frustrating, exasperating, maddening and bothersome waste of time where I can do nothing other than watch the minutes and my life tick away. Not even a good book can change my level of frustration. During the flight, we experienced some turbulance; the plane started bobbing up and down; always a worrying experience, especially if like me, you watched the film "Final Destination" a couple of weeks ago... I decided that if I was to die, then I would want to go listening to some decent music; something to drown the screams of my co-passengers if the plane was to plummet. I popped in my ear buds and found my favourite singer who soothed me through the roller-coaster flight.

There was more turbulance to come.

Despite booking (BIG clue) our accommodation in Vienna months ago, through a certain online company (see clue above), I was rather disappointed to recieve a string of messages saying that I had to collect the keys from a different address to our original appartment. I enquired as to why this was and was informed that as we were arriving late, we had to collect the keys from a different address.
The different address was on a very busy and noisy road. When we arrived, I was told that we would not be staying at the anticipated address, but at the key "collection" address.

It was after 11pm, we had left our lycée 12 hours previously and we had five hungry, tired students with us. I verified that there were enough beds, that the accommodation was clean and took the keys, adding that I was only going to stay there as I had been put in a terrible position.

The apartment was incredibly hot, it was raining cats and dogs all night long so we couldn't really open the windows (not that every bedroom had one) there was a distinct lack of air and both Lionel and I slept badly.
