Slovakia - Ships that pass in the night
This morning I checked out the local supermarkets for goodies to pack for our weekend picnics. The weather forecast is rather clement so we are planning a walk in Koliba Park on Saturday which will take us up to the Kamzit tower and should give us a glorious view of Bratislava.

I had a pleasant walk around Ivanka Pri Dunaji and found an intriguing house almost covered in ivy. It was well kept, as are most of the gardens in the town, and gave the house a beautiful green (and I imagine cool) facade; ideal for birds and
insects.

After walking back to school for lunch, I was really pleased to find myself sitting next to a delegation of educators/government representatives from various African countries; Somalia, Namibia and others. We had a pleasant chat about where we were from, what we were doing in Slovakia and then arrived at the subject of the difficulties farming faces with the climate crisis. They were telling me about the drought that they are currently suffering and I swapped stories of too much rain. Unfortunately our chat was cut short as they were leaving on the next leg of their European tour (Hungry, Germany, Austria to follow) and we had to say our goodbyes. It was a real shame that we didn't have more time together rather than just like ships that pass in the night.
