The boys are fishers; not my cup of tea but I wasn't going to pass on a lovely relaxing day on the bank of a beautiful lake.
It was hot! ☀️The sun shone all day and there was hardly a cloud in the sky. We were joined by an almost constant frog chorus.
IMG_6247.mov (18.7MB) We enjoyed a picnic next to the lake and the boys set their equipment. Benoit caught a huge carp. I spent a long time with Bastien and Victor who caught an array of fish: gardon, carp and perch, giving them all names: Robert, Rachel, Richard, Rachid...
Benoits carp, quite frankly scared the pants off me; I wouldn't want to try and wrestle a monster that size out of the water, but he succeeded and proudly presented his catch for a photo opportunity.
We were next to a railway line and the longest train that I have ever seen in my life passed by our fishing spot, can you count the carriages?

In the evening, we ate dinner at the Doripesco restaurant; shaped like a giant boat, they serve not just fish but other dishes so everybody was catered for. The waiter was really friendly and helpful.
All in all, it was a relaxing day, despite the odd sulk or hissy-fit, the kids did manage to land a few fish.
