The processing unit of Lycee Agricole Montardon is famous for their beetroot and carrot spreads. The unit is located inside the school with proper sanitary conditions. Before entering the unit we were sanitized and allowed to wear a hairnet, lab coat and shoe covers.
The process started with cleaning beetroots and carrots with an automated machine that cleaned and peeled them. Then we cut the beetroots and carrots which were sent to an automated grater that shredded them into small strands. These were was then allowed to cook with some spices and salt.
The entire process of cooking was very intresting and skillful. The products thus created were beetroot spread and carrot spread, both of which were completely vegan.
The products created were kept in jars and then cannned witha can seamer and then sterilized and kept in a refrigerator.
