On 31 March 2023,I visited the Lycee Saint Christophe -Aquaculture , Pisciculture.
I was very excited to visit such a place where i would get to know something about my course. There I visited the fish farm where I saw Trout, Salmon, oyster, mussels ,Gold fish, etc.
They have many ways to clean and recycle water as there is scarcity of water in that area. They are using many filters like mehanical one as well as biological filters.
Generally the optimum temperature for trouts they want to provide is 14°C. The pH of the water is 7-8 . They used crushed oyester(full of calcium)to increase the ph of water.
Feed is generally wheat remnants of poultry, dead fish, chicken, grains, rice, etc.I liked the mutual culture of mussel larvae in the gills of salmons so that mussel which is in the verge of extinction due to temperature and climate changes will grow and increase their numbers.
They tell us that due to rise in temperatures , trouts generally eat less feed so they try to maintain the optimum temperature with the help of cooling device.
They are trying to culture microalgae at the moment.
