The journey i have alwaly dream of was started from mumbai airport to istanbul and finally to France. Our DEFIAA Program corrdinators welcome us with lots of love and excitment. we reached Lycée Agricole de Théza,Perpignan from where our journey of exploring the france started there there we had classes of france language , and also got the insight of french dance and food and ofcourse we tasted french wine , bread and cheese. Next day we went to the collioure and Saint Cyprien to have a real time experence it is city full of culinary art art, wine, food, lovely peopele, beautiful market representing the france culture and the sea holding the complete range of pleasures. It is an iconic picture-postcard place. After few days we went to the instuite assinged to us with our coordinator ( Mr. Farid and Mr. Charles) and luckiy we got the chance to visit two institute (LEGTA les Sardieres in Bourg en Bresse and Lycee agricole St Genis Laval in St Genis Laval).
Indo-French cultural night was organized for the good interaction with our coordinators and students, we danced, sang together and also celebrated holi here and enjoyed Indian cuisine.he town of Bourg-en-Bresse, capital of Ain, is famous for the Brou Royal Monastery, whose beauty is a masterpiece of flamboyant gothic art.The students and staff here were so kind and interactive. We attended English class and conducted some practical work in the food processing lab. We prepared compote, fruit juice, pizza, and learned how to do membrane filtration and juice pasteurization. We also learned the can filling process of tomato sauce and boiled chicken. Next week, we had a visit to a cheese factory and museum in Poligny. We learned the cheese making process, especially comtè cheese because it is made in this area only and got the opportunity to know the cheese history in France. Students here are so warm hearted, they invite us for dinner and we cook Indian meals for them. On the weekend, we went to the Swiss Border, Yvoire, surrounded by beautiful landscape. We took a walk to the old town and had a picnic there. and on another day we went to Lyon city. It's the fifth largest city in France and a beautiful one. The mini world Lyon is bestest one to get the idea of the whole city and the beautiful white Basilica of Notre-Dame is the must visit church. Next week, we visited Huiles and Vinaigres, where we learned the process and packaging of cider and vinegars. They prepared different products from apples, oilseeds, pumpkin, olives and grapes. We also went to an innovative technology competition from Les Sardières to La Région Auvergne and saw the different products prepared by students. In our last week, we took the bicycles and explored the nearby places and did some shopping for families and friends. And finally the day arrived where we to take a leave and said goodbye to all the by giving some souvenir from India.
The next morning we went Lycee agricole St Genis Laval a place with beautiful landscape , where we were welcomed by Mrs. Esable a lady full of postive aura and having a big smile on her face. She introduce us to the facility members and the students. Later we visitited the different labouratories and school premises with the director Mrs Galmard Caroline. And it was weedend so they went us to the Garde family . They were so kind, welcoming peole with a golden heart. They treat us like a family members. She took us to the Lyon city were we took a walk around the city and clicked so many pictures. We also cooked indian meal and specially indian tea for them. They are one of the most wounderful people i have ever met in my life. In school we had interected with students had lab classes ( microbilogy, biochemistery, and biotechnology etc.) our coordinator Mr. Charles he took us to the different industries like Juice extraction company, Lustucru and Spiraline (Vourles) to have a good practicle knowledge about the process and the new advanced equipment and their work culture. They also sponsored our trip for Paris, one of the most beautiful city in world. Where we visited different place like Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, Louvre Museum, Champs Elysées / Arc of Triumph, Cruise on the Seine and Montmartre. The beauty of Eiffel towar was breathtaking. Mr. Charles he organised a crepe and carnival party for us. I must say he tried his best to make us experience theof france culture. He is a person full of energy , enthusiasm and pure heart. On last day they organised a farewell ceremony for us. Everthying was so goodd and we did not relised how fast time had passed.
But still there are some things which can be improved like being a vegetarian sometime it was very hard to manage and no internet was provided to us so everysingle time it was hard to ask the students to share the hotspot and specially on weekends it was very hard to manage because we were all alone in the school. But here everyone is so kind, warm and welcoming which makes france a perfect place to travel. It is so hard to say Goodbye to people with whome we shared a very beautiful and memorable memories. It will always gone stay in my heart and in my soul.
