DATE : 25th March,2023

On the evening of Saturday we reached Caixas, a small village on the foothills of Mount Canigou. We were invited by one of the students from the institution to spend the weekend. The beauty of the mountain is irreplaceable. The home consisted of not only Samanta, Ludivine and their father but also they had four dogs, two cats, rabbits, turtle, goat and many more. It was like a happy place. When we reached there they were busy gardening while we had four dogs welcoming us. Then we had a small tour of the home and the farm. At night we went for star gazing to see the constellation. From the mountain we could clearly see the star due to the clear sky and it appeared as if we were touching the sky.

On the next day we played games and talked about our hobbies. In the afternoon, we went for a small hike to the mountain. The hike to the mountain was not easy as it had a plant with thorns which was constantly stinging but Ludivine and Samanta were doing it with ease. They told us how they used to go hiking when they were young. It was amazing to see how the animals were responding to them talking which tells us that animals understand the language of love and affection.

During the night I helped them with dinner as I used to cook at my home. We watched movies together during the night. This weekend has taught us how people living in mountains live carefree and to the fullest away from the noises of the city. When we came to france we thought of exploring the big cities but Caixas was one of the best thing that has happened to us during this exchange program
