Canadian experience!
INTERNSHIP IN CRSAD - DESCHAMBAULTMy internship is on the Deschambault Animal Science Research Centre for two months ! I choose to go there because I will see a lot of productions and participate in the projects !
- ARRIVAL IN QUÉBEC : I landed at Quebec City airport at 3:30 pm and Jose, a Guatemalan worker bring me to the supermarket then to the CRSAD. I was tired by my travel but really happy to finally see Quebec lands.
- DAY 0 : Discover Deschambault : I was with my roommate Lucie (a french student) and we visited some places near my internship location. It was an amazing experience because we visited all the streets by car.

- FIRST WEEK : Discover the farm : This week was really interesting : I pasted all my time on the cow farm with Jonh (a worker) to learn how to cure the dairy cow. I've helped workers move the dairy cows for one barn to another with the livestock trailer.

- Then, a researcher from the Laval University explained to me her searching project : they want to increase the milk yields and quality. I was able to insert bags containing the cow's feces into its rumen to measure the methane levels it produces and the amount of waste it receives.
- Then I've seen the goats and helped on the chicken farm to prepare a project.
- In this week, i've seen the beef cattles before their departure.

- Week 2 : this week, i've met Hélène and Gabriel, my two supervisors for the rest of my internship. They are so kind and very good teachers.
- I was able to helping them with the chicken farm preparations (cleaning the bird feeders, the seals and the floor).
- I took care of the goats (cut their nails and weigh them).
- I also took care of the cows and learned how feed them.

- I've tried the buggy with my friends. It was very cool !
- It was also the last days of Lucie here, so we had a little party together (with my roommates) and it was really cool.
- On the weekend, i've been on a regional park alone and it was really beautiful.

- Week 3 : This week, i was with Hélène and Gabriel on the chicken farm and the chicken finally arrived. It was really interesting to learn how take care of the chicken (they are here for a research project). I've aslo took care of the pigs (they are so friendly and funny) with Gabriel.
- Finally, on the weekend, i returned on the regional park for chilling.
- Week 4 : It was an exciting week for many reasons ! I've took care of the chickens (my morning ritual) and the pigs (feed and petting them). Then I was able to help to finalise the other chicken farm preparation (organise and clean).
- On Saturday, I've visited Québec City alone and it was amazing! I was on the old town of the city.

- Week 5 : This week was really busy with the arrival of the chicks. On Tuesday afternoon, i was able to help my supervisor to place the chicks on their park and to take care of them.
- They are really cute !

- On Friday, I performed an autopsy on a laying hen because she was in trouble. We discovered a water bubble on her abdomen. It was really interesting.
- Then, the pigs that were going to the slaughterhouse were marked.
- And to finish this day, I was able to help my supervisor inject anti-inflammatories into two cows that had undergone surgery. It was my first time and I really enjoyed that !
- Week 6 : On friday, it was the second weighing of the chicks on their 10th day of life. They grow up so fast ! It was an intense day with a lot of work but it was really interesting!

- I past my weekend in Montreal city and i was able to visit some beautiful town and places.

- Week 7: This week sounds like a farmer routine with same tasks to do during four days. I had the chance to do some tasks alone when i was able to do it and it was really fun !
- I've cleaned some chicken equipment and helped my supervisor to take care of them.
